About Performance
Reimagining the Strange Land of Alice in a Media Performance Rebirth,
Exploring the Strange Land of South Korea The media performance "Being Alice,"
re-envisioned through video and theater,
seeks an immersive theater format
where the audience becomes a part of the performance,
unlike the traditional one-sided viewing experience.
Through Alice, who seeks her own agency through the performance,
the question is raised about whether Alice herself is strange
or if the country in which she lives is strange.
The country symbolizes a strange land, South Korea,
still enforces oppression and discipline upon women.
It attempts to mold women's appearance, behavior,
and thoughts according to patriarchal ideologies.
Alice, living in such a country,
tells a story of finding the agency we have lost and raising her voice.
We have created a unique performance in the form of a media performance
to experience this feminist narrative in a new format.
